About Chris – Counsellor in Stroud

I work with anyone, with any issue. Whatever you bring to therapy, we will approach it together.

Alongside this general practice, I have particular experience supporting people navigating addiction and grief in all its forms.

Often we think of grief as something connected only to the death of a loved one. But loss can take many shapes – the end of a relationship, changes in identity, loss of health, life transitions or the sense that something important in life has changed or been left behind. These experiences can carry deep feelings of grief that deserve space and attention.

My path into counselling

Before retraining as a therapist, I spent 13 years working as an accountant. But I’ve always been drawn to roles that involve supporting others and I also come from a family with strong connections to caring and healthcare professions.

Outside of therapy, I spend a lot of time in the great outdoors – I love hiking! For me, hiking offers a slower pace of life and connection to the natural world that allows for resetting and being present.

The values that guide my practice

This sense of slowing down is something I bring into my work with clients: a focused, attentive space where your experiences can be explored without pressure, rush overwhelm from modern life.

Being focused on the person in front of me and appreciating what they’re bringing is the core value of my practice.
